Established in 1989 to serve a growing need for education assistance, the Education Foundation of Forest Grove was formed as an official 501(c)(3) non profit by local business owners concerned about large budget cuts in the public schools that were eliminating electives and needs that they wanted to see students continue with. The EdFoundation is an independent organization assisting the Forest Grove School District in expanding the educational opportunities and resources available to our students.

Our mission is to build bridges of learning, enrichment and education for the students of Forest Grove.

The funds we raise come from events like the Christmas with the Trail Band Concert, yearly various fundraisers, annual appeals, grants, endowments and donations. It is our hope that through these funds we will be able to help bring back programs and electives that have been lost in previous years.

Each year, the Foundation funds five college scholarships (the Coon Family Scholarship, two Genevieve Guyton Scholarships, the Margaret Spang Scholarship, and the Alumni Scholarship) to Forest Grove High School seniors, and awards grants to teachers to help fund classroom/school projects and support district wide programs.
